Understanding feelings

Understanding and processing emotions:

1.  An event creates a feeling, emotion : there is a physiological  change in our body.

2. We become aware of this sensation. What are we feeling?

3. We name the feeling, it is important to have the proper vocabulay. What is the name of this emotion? How strong is it? 1_______________10

4. Interpretation and conclusions: Be honest, what really caused this feeling?

5. We evaluate the feeling: All emotions are acceptable and understable, they tell us that something is happening.

6. We make a decision to take action in response to the cause of the feeling: What is the healthy way to cope with this emotion? What is it going to be the result?

This time, if you are interested in this topic, you can use a personal feeling diary, identifying your feelings and emotions in the list below , good or bad, and asking yourself about: when do I feel in that way? Where am I? Who with?, What am I feeling? (Physically), what am I thinking? How do I act? Why do you feel this way?

To answer you can download this guide:

This is a more complete feelings list that you can use, if you have got spare time or if you are interested in learning more vocabulary.
